Singeries

Two women try to remain true to themselves. Stuck in the centre of a video fresco, where their reflections multiply, morph, and shatter, they compulsively sing and replay themselves in order not to disintegrate. However, their hopes remain poorly anchored to their destiny: they are constantly behind or ahead of themselves, never in true sync with their innermost souls. From one moment to the next, female presences come to their rescue (Marguerite Duras, Chantal Akerman, Martha Rosler, Amy Greenfield, Maya Deren, Lygia Clark), but their rumour ends far and wide. Let’s call it an imposter — a sham.

Written correspondence, video and sound sampling, quotation, improvisation, rest, and repeated singing were at the heart of this creative process.

SINGERIES is the continuation of the friendship between Catherine Levoie-Marcus and Priscilla Guy, a meeting that has neither succeeded nor failed, but which is constantly renewed. The two are riveted to each other, sometimes without really knowing why, in an incessant — and yet reluctant — dialogue.

Les employés

*CREATED HERE – WORLD PREMIERE*
Laser-sharp, this creation marks the return of creator Cédric Delorme Bouchard, who continues his journey between body, voice, and machine.

Can I trust my colleague? What do these nightmares mean? Am I (still) human? When mysterious objects are brought aboard the six thousandth ship of a powerful space exploration corporation, the fragile cohabitation of its human and look-alike employees breaks down and descends into violence. Adapted for the stage from the novel by Danish author Olga Ravn, THE EMPLOYEES is a spellbinding work by director and designer Cédric Delorme-Bouchard.

Anima / Darkroom

Between darkness and incandescent light, the power of the gesture springs forth. Galvanizing and liberating.

Raw energy. Jerky movements that look like a fight. Choreographer Lucy M. May meets the explosive force of 7Starr to present krump, a street dance born in the effervescence of the 2000s, within the context of a black box theatre. We dive into it like a volcano: between darkness and incandescent light, the power and gesture gushes out into the space. Galvanizing and liberating.

A pioneer and magnetic emblem of krump, co-choreographer 7Starr stretches time and slides from one figure to another in a dance of pure expression. With a tense, grimacing body, he engages in dialogue with all the different facets of a shared human existence. A call for witnesses before a complicit audience — a quest for reciprocity. The need to be seen and heard. A real space of affirmation, the theatre becomes a dark room, revealing and fixing the chameleon-like presence of the dancer. An alchemy that leaves its mark.

Le Trésor

One rainy day, two children — a brother, a sister, and their cat Piano — are stuck inside, their noses stuck to the windows. Boredom quickly gives way to creativity, which magically unfolds before the eyes of the audience. The trio’s creations offer a lucid, poetic, and touching vision of childhood.

Choreographer Pierre-Paul Savoie has drawn on the repertoire of Quebecois song to create THE TREASURE, a dance performance for children that oscillates between passion and poetry, between gentleness and candour. THE TREASURE takes a luminous look at childhood and at the joy, freedom, and spontaneity of play.
