Durant des années immerses us in rural Quebec in 1999. An isolated village, lost in the middle of the Ottawa River, becomes the scene of the mysterious murder of a teenager. Twenty years later, a journalist returns to her hometown to unearth (and divert) this heavy past, with the aim of answering the questions surrounding this tragedy.
But this search did not take into account the traces left by this event on the small community. How far are we willing to go for glory? After all, some things are perhaps better left buried...
After Néon Boréal, Théâtre du Trillium returns with a new creation, the first digital audio episode of which was presented at Zones Théâtrales in 2019. In keeping with its avant-garde practices, Théâtre du Trillium has teamed up with Théâtre Catapulte for an ambitious formal research project, designing an interactive set generated by artificial intelligence. Blurring the boundaries between humans and machines, documentary aesthetics and fiction, Durant des années echoes an era of media mistrust in which journalistic rigor and "fake news," as well as truth and falsehood, intermingle within the same fresco.
